Ariel Rad, MD, PhD

Ariel N. Rad, MD, PhD is a board certified plastic surgeon and assistant professor at Johns Hopkins where he specializes in microsurgical breast reconstruction and aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Rad provides procedures such as the DIEP flap and SGAP flap. He was featured in a worldwide press release for his landmark study describing the LSGAP flap, a major advancement that borrows tissue from the love-handle region. He has published in major peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at national meetings, most recently in Helsinki, Finland where he presented his work at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery conference. He is active in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. Dr. Rad is also the director of aesthetic plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins.
