Elena Elkin, Ph.D. is an assisting attending outcomes research scientist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Elkin studies cancer screening technologies and how their availability and use impacts cancer treatment and survival rates. 

Much of Dr. Elkin’s research focuses on mammograms used in breast cancer screening. She has analyzed how certain populations of women access mammograms and developed an online tool to help women between the ages of 40 and 49 decide whether to have a mammogram. 

In addition, Dr. Elkin studies the economic impact of cancer treatment on both those diagnosed and the healthcare system.
