In 2022, LBBC honored a group of caregivers with the Abby Lessack Caregiver Award. The award was inspired by Amy Lessack, LBBC board member and longtime volunteer, who, in the weeks before she passed away from metastatic breast cancer, approached LBBC with a request to honor her sister Abby who was her caregiver. Amy’s wish was to celebrate and elevate the often-unrecognized contributions of caregivers like her sister, whose stories need to be told.

In carrying out Amy’s wishes and a desire to provide a space to highlight more caregivers, we are pleased to announce In this together: LBBC caregiver initiative. Join us in shining a light on caregivers, often the unsung heroes of the breast cancer experience.

Submissions are now closed. Thank you to all who participated. In this Together: LBBC Caregiver Initiative slide show video will be shared in November 2023.
