Heather S. Jim, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of health outcomes and behavior at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Her research focuses on the psychological and physical effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment, including cognitive impairment, fatigue, depression, disruptions in sleep and physical activity, and reduced quality of life.

Dr. Jim’s goal is to help cancer patients feel better physically and emotionally. She dedicates her work to documenting the prevalence, severity and duration of side effects, determining who is at greatest risk of developing side effects, developing and evaluating targeted treatments to prevent or reduce side effects, and understanding underlying biological and behavioral mechanisms. Dr. Jim is widely published and has an active program of federally-funded research.
