Nicole Acevedo, PhD

Nicole Acevedo, MS, PhD, is the science director at Beautycounter, a cosmetics company that produces safe makeup and body products free of toxic chemicals. As science director, Dr. Acevedo brings her expertise on the health risks of everyday exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals. She works with the environment, health & safety team to screen all potential ingredients in Beautycounter’s products for safety and to move forward groundbreaking ingredient research.

Dr. Acevedo is a reproductive and environmental health scientist. She also worked as a clinical embryologist before studying the effects of perinatal exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals on the development of adult reproductive systems. As a reproductive and environmental health scientist, she collaborated with both academic institutions and regulatory agencies to help identify best practices for hazard assessment of environmental chemical contaminants.
