Shenise Nicole Henderson MBA, MSS LCSW, RYT, has been working in the field of social work for over 17 years. She has dedicated her work to trauma-informed care and practice with children, adults, families, and communities.

Ms. Henderson works very closely with the foster care system and infant-early childhood mental health, helping to implement trauma informed practice within organizations. She also teaches social work practice at the West Chester University’s Graduate School of Social Work. Ms. Henderson works to supports children and families on the road to permanency, working to reduce the impact of intergenerational trauma and secondary traumatic stress on the caregivers.

Along with her clinical and therapeutic work, Ms. Henderson developed a love for yoga. She is certified in trauma-sensitive yoga and is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher. She has taught yoga in a professional studio and in various schools and recreational centers within the School District of Philadelphia. She uses a workplace wellness model where she provides yoga classes and therapy to child welfare staff. Ms. Henderson is also running coordinator of a running group for minority women in Philadelphia.
