Suzanne C. Danhauer, Ph.D., is associate professor of social sciences and health policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a licensed psychologist with a background in clinical health psychology.
Dr. Danhauer’s research focuses on how behavioral therapies and integrative mind-body therapies may benefit people with cancer during and after treatment. In particular, she is interested in symptom management. She has studied the practice of yoga in women with breast and ovarian cancer, as well as in people with brain tumors who are treated with radiation therapy. She also served as a co-investigator on a recent study examining the impact of yoga on hot flashes.
In clinical practice, Dr. Danhauer has worked extensively with women with breast cancer on psychosocial issues. She also has strong interests in patient-provider communication and psychological wellness.
