William L. Scarlett, DO, FACS, FACOS, FAACS, is an associate clinical professor of plastic surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and medical director of Bucks County Aesthetic Center in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Scarlett co-founded a research company to advance patient care, and has patents pending on new devices for breast cancer care. He is working on his first book, Demanding Compassion. He also has developed art and writing workshops designed to help people with cancer navigate the psychosocial aspects of the disease. He travels nationally teaching new breast reconstruction techniques.
He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has received multiple awards and published in many papers in his field, including the breast reconstruction chapter in Surviving Cancer: Our Voices and Choices.
