- 2024 Hear My Voice Advocate
Marialuisa “Alycia” Villasana is a metastatic breast cancer advocate who has been living with stage IV disease for more than six years. Breast cancer has been part of her life since her initial diagnosis with early-stage breast cancer in 2003. Her lived experiences have given her a perspective on authenticity, resilience, and connection as a mom, spouse, daughter, friend, and human.
Alycia approaches each day with gratitude and intention, viewing every morning as a new opportunity to make meaningful choices. She is committed to using her voice and personal journey to educate others about metastatic breast cancer, raise awareness, and foster empathy and support for those facing similar challenges.
Despite the ongoing challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer, Alycia finds strength in service, love, and learning. These elements help her cope with adversity and inspire others to do the same. Her experience drives her to be present for those who feel unseen or unheard, offering kindness and understanding to uplift others.
May my voice reach as many people as possible to educate, support, and empower them in their healing process.
