- Awarded the 2026 Armed Forces Insurance Navy Spouse of the Year for her advocacy
Meg Graves is a 16-year Navy spouse, military-family advocate, self-described medical unicorn, and mom to three growing kids.
Diagnosed with stage IIIC triple-negative breast cancer in December 2020, she went through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and the decision to go flat, radiation, immunotherapy, and oral chemotherapy before finishing active treatment in July 2022. She continues to navigate lymphedema and recurrent cellulitis. Her advocacy for military families has taken her to Congress and earned her recognition as the 2026 Armed Forces Insurance Navy Spouse of the Year.
When she is not mothering her children or helping other families find their footing, Meg can usually be found playing or coaching kickball, on the sidelines of her kids’ travel soccer games, or making a checklist for whatever comes next. Anchors aweigh!
