Amara’s main areas of interest are representing LBBC at events, sharing her lived experience through storytelling, and moderating webinars and educational programs.
Amara has been a math educator for 17 years. In her career, she has held roles as a high school math teacher, instructional coach, educational consultant, program manager, and entrepreneur. She loves connecting with and learning from others. She finds great joy in sharing meals, laughter, and stories with people. In her solo time, she enjoys reading books and listening to podcasts during long walks or while cooking.
I learned the quote, “The biggest storms are followed by the best rainbows,” after my diagnosis. While cancer sucks – a lot – I can’t control that part of my journey. What I can control is my attitude. I hope I can bring this perspective to others in this healing journey.
