Dr. Israeli offers the full range of breast reconstruction options. In his current practice, Dr. Israeli has a special interest in revision surgery for unsatisfactory breast reconstruction outcomes, subpectoral to prepectoral implant conversion for animation deformities, and natural tissue flaps for salvage of failed implant reconstructions. He has published a reliable abdominal wall reconstruction approach to the management of TRAM flap related hernias, which he routinely performs for women referred for treatment locally and nationally.

Dr. Israeli completed his plastic surgery residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School, and his surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Named by U.S. News & World Report among the top plastic surgeons in the nation, Dr. Israeli was also honored by the American Cancer Society with their 2007 Physician of Distinction Award.

In addition to lecturing at national conferences, Dr. Israeli has written multiple papers and textbook chapters on breast and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is currently co-editor with Dr. Jonathan Bank of a new textbook, Restored: The Science and Art of Complex Breast Reconstruction. Dr. Israeli is co-founder and Managing Director of BreastReconstruction.org, a not-for-profit organization providing a comprehensive web resource for women facing mastectomy.

Dr. Israeli has many artistic interests and is currently studying oil painting. He derives inspiration from his work as a surgeon and has painted a series of large-scale paintings depicting scenes from the operating room. He has also created two series of life cast sculptures of his breast reconstruction patients. The first culminated in an exhibit at the 2012 American Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting, helping launch the annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day campaign. Restored, a short documentary film features the positive impact of this life cast project on his patients. Collaborating with Dr. Jonathan Bank in 2021, a follow-up exhibit of breast reconstruction life cast sculptures incorporated photographs and other artistic elements beyond the sculptures, culminated in a book also titled Restored.
