Dr. Wander also serves as director of precision medicine in the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies, where he leads efforts across the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center to integrate emerging genetic and molecular sequencing technologies into cancer research and clinical trial design. His work has helped shape current understanding of drug resistance in metastatic breast cancer and supports the development of new therapeutic strategies across all phases of drug development.

He earned his undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology at Cornell University, where he graduated magna cum laude with distinction in research, and completed his MD and PhD in cancer biology at the University of Miami. Dr. Wander completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and his fellowship training in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. He is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and remains engaged in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Dr. Wander’s work has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Wong Family Translational Research Award (2017) and the Conquer Cancer Foundation/American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award (2018).
