Francess Register-Joyner was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer 12 years ago. Her active treatment lasted 12 months. In her efforts to support cancer research, she annually leads a team of walkers in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. At the age of 60, Francess participated as a fundraiser and walker in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, 60 mile event. She is now cancer free and serves as the director of the targeted case management unit in the Philadelphia department of behavioral health and intellectual disabilities.
