Workplace or school giving can be a great team building initiative. Whether you're looking to involve your colleagues or engage your employees or fellow students, there are many ways to show your support for people diagnosed with breast cancer.

Workplace giving
Matching gifts
A matching gift is an easy way to double, or sometimes triple, the amount of your personal contribution to LBBC. Many employers offer this option; check with your human resources department to find out if this is an option for you.
Give via the United Way
If you live in the Delaware Valley, regular contributions to LBBC are easy to make thanks to our participation in the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s Donor Choice Program. Employees of any company that supports United Way can enroll in regular contributions to LBBC through payroll deduction. Simply ask your human resources or payroll department for a Donor Designated Funds Form. Be sure to use LBBC’s code: 10172.
You can also participate at any United Way, anywhere in the country. If you live outside the greater Philadelphia area, simply contact your local United Way and provide LBBC’s EIN# 23-2734689 and address (40 Monument Road, Suite 104, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004) to designate your gift to us.
Give via payroll deduction
Your employer may offer you the opportunity to make a charitable contribution pre-tax through payroll deduction. Check with your human resources department to see if your workplace offers this option.
School fundraising
Creating a fundraiser and raising money for a good cause can be a rewarding endeavor for schools, helping students learn about philanthropy, teamwork, and community engagement. Here are several ways your school can organize a DIY fundraiser for LBBC:
- Plan your fundraiser: Decide on the type of fundraiser that best fits your school community:
- Events: Organize events such as charity walks, fun runs, talent shows, or themed parties where participants pay an entry fee or make donations
- Sales: Host bake sales, craft fairs, or garage sales where students and families can contribute items or goods to sell, with proceeds going to the nonprofit.
- Campaigns: Run donation drives like a coin or penny war, where different grades or classes compete to collect the most change.
- Involve students and staff: Encourage student leadership by forming a fundraising committee or involving student councils, clubs, and classes in planning and executing the fundraiser.
- Promote and raise awareness: Use school newsletters, social media platforms, posters, and announcements to inform the school community about the fundraiser and the impact their donations will make. Check out our promotional toolkit for additional resources.
- Facilitate easy donations: Make it convenient for donors to contribute by setting up a JustGiving fundraising page or providing donation boxes at school events.
- Follow-up and say thanks: After the fundraiser, communicate the total amount raised and how it will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Express gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, or supported the event.
