Shop nowThe Cancer Calendar is a practical, art-driven companion for anyone navigating a cancer diagnosis. It provides structured calendar templates beginning at diagnosis and moving through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
The Cancer Calendar is more than a calendar. Kerri Besse created this product in real time, as she was going through treatment. It was something she truly wanted for herself and something that is not on the market already. It was designed to help newly diagnosed patients navigate their “new normal,” but also includes journal entries and writing prompts, recipes, and recommended products. Included sticker sheets feature key icons for appointments and milestones, along with blank stickers that allow users to personalize their pages with the tools, habits, and small victories that help them cope.
In an effort to support local small businesses, she chose a small publisher called Walnut Street Publishing (WSP). They are a Chattanooga, TN-based publishing collective. WSP is a team of readers, writers, artists, and dreamers who believe in showcasing the wealth of talent across Appalachia.
I was an LBBC Young Advocate in the class of 2021-2022. During that time, I met some of the beautiful and inspiring young women. We have lost two women from my class; two women who are gone too soon. I see almost daily what an impact this disease has on me and the people around me. This diagnosis changed me forever. I believe in the work that LBBC does and the community of survivors that is fostered through their outreach and programming.
