Ira J. Bleiweiss, MD, is a professor of pathology and laboratory at The University of Pennsylvania and chief of breast pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. He previously served those roles at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, where he was also chief of anatomic and surgical pathology. He has been an active participant in national clinical breast cancer trials, has published numerous articles and book chapters, published a textbook on radiologic and pathologic correlation in breast core biopsies, and frequently lectures nationally and internationally.
