Celebrity nutritionist Rachel Beller to address conference on thriving with metastatic breast cancer, Saturday, April 29
Rachel Beller to speak before more than 350 people with stage IV breast cancer in Philadelphia at Thriving Together: 2023 Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer
- 04/25/23
Rachel Beller, MS, RDN, the author and TV personality whose interest in cancer nutrition stemmed from a family experience, will address Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s 17th Annual Thriving Together: 2023 Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer, the nation’s premier and longest-running conference for people affected by stage IV breast cancer, on April 29.
She will co-present “Ask the Expert: Diet, Physical Activity, and Sleep.” Beller’s latest book, SpiceRack: A Spicy Action Plan for Breast Health and Weight Management, is due to be published in October. Beller was drawn to the field after she and her family were frustrated with the lack of resources on nutrition when her father had pancreatic cancer.
More than 350 women and men will convene to hear about the latest treatments from leading oncology professionals and the psychosocial coping strategies of peers with lived experience. Metastatic breast cancer, also known as stage IV, is cancer that has spread beyond the breast and nearby lymph nodes to a distant area of the body such as the bones, lungs, liver, or brain. The disease can be treated but not cured. There are an estimated 168,300 Americans currently living with metastatic breast cancer, and it takes the lives of more than 43,000 Americans a year.
