Connect with Marissa
Marissa is co-founder and CEO of For the Breast of Us based in Atlanta, a national nonprofit focused on advocacy, education, and community for women of color impacted by breast cancer. A breast cancer thriver, patient advocate, and nonprofit leader, Marissa serves as a program coordinator at a leading cybersecurity company and brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to her mission.
Marissa was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2015 at age 35. After participating in Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Young Advocate Program, she was inspired to continue and deepen her involvement with the organization. She serves on LBBC’s Black Breast Cancer Advisory Council. As a board member, Marissa is committed to representing and helping women of color – navigating health care and life after cancer.
Through leadership programs and community-building initiatives, Marissa ensures women feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their experience. Her work centers on health equity, cultural representation, and helping women navigate the healthcare system with confidence.
